Hiking in the High Tatras

Trekking and rock climbing

PRIDE OF SLOVAKIA

It is completely right to label High Tatras as the pride of Slovakia. Despite of its small surface area, the highest peak of The Carpathian Mountains and of Slovakia, Gerlachovský Štít (2 655 m. a.s.l.), is situated right there. Walking in surroundings, lighter hikes throughout the forests or even the most challenging hikes to the mountain peaks will make you leave with warm memories.

TWO-THOUSAND-METER HIGH PEAKS

The majority of the marked hiking trails in the High Tatras is opened all year long. From the 15th of June till the 1st of November are opened also those, by which you can reach 2 000+ metres high peaks, distant saddles and ridges.

THE MOST TRAILS

Tatranska Lomnica serves as a starting point for a lot of hikes in High Tatras. Directly from Tatranska Lomnica you can get to Skalnate pleso (glacier lake), Zelene pleso (Green glacier lake), you can visit the Great and Small Cold valleys or just take a walk through the forest to Starý Smokovec.
